    Because Jess said to...
(I forget how do the hyperlink thingy.)

    How this works:

    1. Grab the nearest book.
    2. Open the book to page 123.
    3. Find the fifth sentence.
    4. Post the text of the next 3 sentences on your blog along with these instructions.
5.Don't you dare dig for that "cool" or "intellectual" book in your closet! I know you were thinking about it! Just pick up whatever is closest.

"Have you picked many of your apples yet?"
"Oh, ever so many," said Anne, forgetting to be dignified and jumping up quickly. "Let's go out to the orchard and get some of the Red Sweetings, Diana."

    The Macarena??
So I'm at my best friend's mom's 50th birthday party. I can't dance. We're in the country, and I can't line dance. I definitely don't know any dance moves besides the chorus of YMCA. Then they play the Macarena. I'm the ONLY ONE who knows it. I'm a LOSER.

I'm still at the party which is at a hotel that has free computer access. So I'm journaling from there. Double LOSER.

Go to school in the country: you learned to line dance. Go to school in the city: you learn the Macarena.

    Now I get it
Tonight I read through some of my old entries, and it was cool seeing how much has changed since then. (OK, so a little depressing. I actually thought I'd like it here!) So I think for anyone trying to figure out what to say in their LJ, I recommend writing about the little things in your life. It'll be fun to go back and read them later.

Oh, and I forgot Israel on my countries I've been to map. My bad.

Pippa has laid off the hamper and shoelaces, but she still loves cardboard. I've gotten better about keeping boxes I care about put away. Paper is another delicacy of hers, and if I'm not careful, she will in fact eat my homework. Thankfully she's yet to finish any of it.

    How to kill bugs
Turn the light on in the bathroom, but keep all other lights off. Keep the lights like this for a couple hours. This will cause the bugs to swarm into the bathroom. Then take a hot shower that steams up the bathroom well. The steam and water will kill or heavily sedate the bugs. Wash them down the drains or use a tissue to wipe up the bugs. No more bugs!

How I learned this: I just thought lighting my room by the bathroom light would simply keep the room cooler. It does that, and more!

    Where I've been
Fun! Here's a map of all the states I've been to, I think. I'd have to ask my mom to be sure. Looks like I've been to all the *interesting* ones, right? ;)

    Too Much Gaming
So I was walking across the grass at school and a white butterfly was flitting over the grass. I thought, "ooh! Common butterfly!" and wanted to whip out my red net and catch it. It's a bad thing when I start to think I'm living my video game. I need to lay off the Animal Crossing.

    Oh yeah
I remembered what else I had to share with you... I am allergic to Klamath Falls. Literally. Figures since I already hate this town. I've never had allergies this bad in my life. It sucks!

    Boys are immature
Today in my programming class, which consists of about 20 students, 3 of which are girls, the instructor wrote a variable name on the board: ipNum. Almost the entire class started laughing. Of course the instructor is hard of hearing so he didn't notice. I'm sure he'll use it again, and they'll keep laughing. How does one pee numb, anyway?

    Dirty
I was playing Animal Crossing on DS, and Benedict, a rooster character, asked me to give him a new catch phrase. I decided on cock. He liked it, and told me, "That goes down as smooth as a glass of sparkling cider." No wonder Alice doesn't like him much. He's far more interested in Frobert (the only other male currently living in my town).

    Crappy Afternoon
This afternoon sucked for me! The nice thing about LJ is there's a place I can bitch about it! First of all, I'm totally PMSing and have been craving brownies for a few days. Today I could finally get to Fred Meyer to get some. But the kind I like came in with incorrect ingredient labels, so they couldn't sell them!! Argh!! So I go to Safeway, and thankfully they have brownies. But I entered $20 cash back on my debit, but the guy didn't give me the cash! I was too tired and stressed to notice. It wasn't until I was cleaning out my purse an hour later that I noticed I still had no cash. So I drive back to Safeway and there's no one working at the Customer Service desk. They're all checking. So while I'm standing at the Customer Service desk, the clerk who's supposed to be manning the CS desk lets at least 2 people enter her line! I don't know how many entered while the guy ahead of me was standing there. I couldn't believe they just ignore people like that. Finally she came over and I showed her the receipt. She audited the drawer and gave me my money, thankfully. Not that I shop at Safeway all that much, but I'll definitely think twice about shopping there again! To top it all off, it's snowing, again, which probably means the pass (if not this whole town, too) is gonna be crappy tomorrow and I can't go shopping in Medford as I had planned. Grrr!! I hope you had a better day than I did.

    Are you happy, Amanda?
Amanda got LJ to send a harassing not to me telling me I need to update my journal, so here I am. I guess today is a good day to be in front of the computer since everything is covered in snow. Wo got a lot yesterday. I don't know what the official count was, but a snowmobile was driving down my street yesterday if that's any indication.

I've survived two weeks of this term and so far my classes (all two of them) aren't too bad. There isn't much homework, so that's the best part. But I know my programming class will get harder when the programs get more involved.

Pippa is very cute although she annoys the heck out of me sometimes. One of these weeks I will actually get pictures of her uploaded. She has taken a liking to the shoelaces in one particular pair of my shoes, and so now they have tons of snags in them. She also likes to chew on cardboard. This is how she entertains herself when she's in my room, along with playing with the laundry hamper until it collapses. (The cardboard boxes she chews on holds all my doll stuff.)

So my life isn't all that exciting right now. I am eagerly awaiting Nathan's visit next month, though!!

    Phew
My mom has gone home, so now I have more free time. I had much fun with her. She will be back on the 19th. Yay! I have a bunch of last minute homework to do that I'm avoiding by typing this! I need to get the assignments turned in since next week is finals week. I have a lab final on Monday which isn't really a final, we just check our Lego kits in. My team got 4th place in the races! We rock! (Don't ask how many teams competed.) Tuesday I have my real final (that will still be easy). Wednesday I work, then Thursday I'm driving home! Yay! I have four days off from work so I can see everyone, and meet Rylie who was born on November 25th. I am especially excited to see Nathan. It's been too long. And we haven't gotten to talk very much. Grrr. I have about half of my Christmas shopping finished. There's only a couple people I need to buy things for. Everything else I'm waiting to get in the mail (or UPS). So I can at least bring some of the presents home with me to hand out. Ok, I really gotta get back to drawing logic diagrams.

    This week...
I've been so busy with stupid work, I haven't felt like updating here. On Monday it snowed all freakin' day long. I dunno how much we ended up with, but it had to be a few inches. The snow isn't too horrible, and I could drive. But getting to school Tuesday morning sucked. Everything was iced over. Fortunately by midday it melted. Now the streets and such are clear, but grass and buildings still have snow on them.

I talked to the apparel manager at work, and she said I could get less hours. For some reason she thought I *wanted* lots of hours. I'm getting way too stressed. I never get a day off. If I'm off work, I have school; if I'm off school, I have work. So hopefully now I will be working less and may be able to have a life!

I am SUPER excited that I will be going to Portland tomorrow! I get to see Nathan!! and Jodi, Amanda, Karen, Thomas, and Mike. Woohoo! It will be an awesome weekend! Now I just need to get rid of this headache that's been bothering me the past couple days. I think it's a pinched nerve or pulled muscle.

    It's Cooold
The snow is quickly approaching. It hasn't managed to stick on the streets yet, but it did stick in the foothills surrounding the city. I am not looking forward to driving in snow. I don't even have snow tires yet. My mom wants me to wait until she gets here to get them. She'll be here on the 12th. (Or was it the 11th? Either way, I won't see her until I get home on the 13th.)
Because it's starting to get cold, I've gotten on a candle and hot chocolate kick. They are nice and warm. I burn a candle on my computer desk and sit here and sip hot chocolate (the kind with mini marshamallows, of course). Mmmm, sugar.
Jenny went to Portland for the weekend, so I have the house to myself, woohoo!

    School and stuff
Hey everybody, check out the comments from my last entry! I have an OIT friend! Teehee! Jess is probably thinking, "Friend? I was just trying to be nice to the loser." Thanks for finding me here, Jess! And I lurve your Osaka icons!

So I guess things are slowly getting better for me in K Falls. I've been hanging out with Brian (and Cliff) between classes. Brian is in both of my classes. I have a horrible habit of being late to our morning class, and I told him how no matter how early I get up, I don't think I'll ever make it on time. A couple classes later, I made it just in time, and he congratulated me on making it. Hehe, he remembered. I figure people must care about me a little if they remember what I tell them! It is great having someone to do homework with, so we can talk things out if we don't get them. Definitely helps figuring them out. And I lurve Cliff. He made the front page of The Edge (the school paper)! Picture and everything! Hehe. He is the most fun in Tuesday morning lab, cuz he just can't take sitting perfectly still for 3 hours. I think he knows that it takes all I have in me not to play with him, so he starts bothering me knowing I'll cave in and at least pet him. And so far, I've only dropped a lego on him once, and it was a rubbery wheel. For anyone lost, Cliff is a Guide Dogs for the Blind Puppy in Training. Thanks to him, I became friends with Brian. And in my Tuesday lab, we play with Lego Mindstorms. I am constantly dropping pieces, but so far I've been able to retrieve them all.

My happy place at school is the Otaku club meetings Monday and Tuesday nights. It's so fun sitting around watching anime, and everyone in there is eccentric, so I don't get so self-concious. Jess is in the club! She provides funny commentary. I get lost during some discussions, though. It's amazing how into anime and manga I've gotten considering I haven't been into it a year yet. Did that make sense?

I had been thinking it's sad that I am better at writing things on my AG (that's American Girl) message boards than I am on here. I guess I don't care as much what I say to people I don't generally see IRL. But I'm doing good tonight! I guess I have to read the boards first to get my writing juices flowing.

Ok, I think that's enough for now (if anyone is still reading).

I'm getting the hang of this...
Now that I've added Krysten and Kat to my Friends list, I realized how the Friends view is set up. Pretty nifty! I don't actually have to go to anyone's journals to read them. Of course it makes everyone else's formatting useless.

I told Jodi that I started a LJ. She asked how I was doing it, and I was lost... What do you mean how? Go the website and register, duh!... So I had to clarify. Jodi never heard of the website before. Oops. Just because I am a loser who lives on the internet doesn't mean everyone else is.
